This page will guide you through the essential information about course modalities, next steps to enrollment, and making the most of your online learning experience.
Once you have completed all of the steps for applying for an online program, you are ready to register for classes! Registration opens at different times depending on when you will start classes:

Access your MSU Denver email and student account by using the My First Login tool. You will need your Student ID number from your acceptance email/letter. Remember to save your MSU Denver NetID (username), password, and Student ID number (also called your 900/901 number!).
The Student Hub provides a central place to access email, Canvas, your student profile, financial information, and more. Review all the resources to know where to go later in your student journey.
It’s critical to stay up to date on your email follow these instructions on setting up your MSU Denver email to your mobile device or computer.
When you applied to MSU Denver, you may have uploaded unofficial transcripts to your application account. You will need to request an official transcript from every previously attended institution. Learn more about how to send your transcripts to MSU Denver. If you have fewer than 24 or more transferable college credits, you must submit your high school or GED transcript.
Complete Orientation TestAll new students are required to attend Orientation. Online students can complete an asynchronous session in under an hour. Sign up and complete the pre-modules and orientation session now.
Depending on your completed college coursework or incoming test scores, you may be required to take a placement test for math and/or English. Learn more about testing requirements before completing orientation.
Find your advisor and make an appointment.
If your official transcript evaluations have not been completed, please bring unofficial transcripts when meeting with your advisor so you register for the correct courses.
After meeting with your advisor, select your courses for the semester. Check out this registration guide if you get stuck on how to add or drop classes.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by using MSU Denver’s school code 001360. Undocumented and DACA students should complete the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) for state aid.
Access your financial aid and scholarship award in your account on your Student Hub. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at [email protected] for any questions.
Complete the General Scholarship Application which connects one application to over 250 scholarships that are awarded based on academics, achievement, and financial need.
Online students get an additional scholarship. Review the details to see if you qualify and how to renew it each year.
Colorado residents qualify for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend which pays for a portion of the in-state tuition on every course credit you take.
Pay tuition and fees via the Student Hub under the “Web Services” section.
Health Insurance is a mandatory fee. Those with alternate coverage can waive this fee/requirement.
All students are also required to submit their immunization records. Review the Immunization Requirements.
Check out our bookstore and find the required supplies. Please note, some online courses use Open Educational Resources, which are free or low-cost materials, so you might not have to buy anything.

Canvas is MSU Denver’s learning management system used for online and many face-to-face courses. Go to the Student Hub, click the Canvas link under the “Web Services” section, and log in using your NetID and NetID password.
As an MSU Denver student, you receive five FREE copies of Microsoft Office for your personal use and can access online versions of many of these apps through the Office 365 web portal. Please see “How do I download Office 365 applications on my personal computer?” for download information.

Email an Enrollment SpecialistGo to the Student Hub and Click on Course Info near the top of the page – this will jump down to the proper section.
In Course Info, you will find the link for Academic Advising as the middle link in the top row.
On the lefthand side,you should see a full sidebar – Appointments will be the third link from the top of the page.
From there, you can click Schedule an Appointment at the top right of the page.
Select Academic Advising as the appointment type, Degree
Planning as the reason, and choose a desired appointment
date. Then click Find Available Time.
Select an available meeting time with your Academic Advisor that works with your schedule.
Choose your desired meeting format (Phone, Virtual
Meeting) and click Schedule. You’re all done!
